UNITE COE

On June 9 and 10, 2026, Hall 113 of the Center of Excellence UNITe hosted the defense of student projects in the course “Software Requirements Analysis” by third-year students enrolled in the Software Engineering programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

The projects were evaluated by a faculty panel consisting of Prof. Dr. Olga Georgieva, Ph.D., and teaching assistants Pavla Manova, Yova Mitova and Svetimir Ignatov, all graduates of the same programme and course. During the project defenses, the students presented their work and demonstrated their ability to analyze and formulate software requirements. The grades awarded ranged from excellent to failing, reflecting the varying levels of achievement among the participants.

“We strive to be both completely objective and appropriately critical, because assessment is part of the learning process. It is important for students to understand all of their mistakes and shortcomings,” commented Prof. Olga Georgieva.

Among the projects presented, several stood out for their original concepts and potential to evolve into real-world software systems, making a particularly good impression on the faculty evaluation panel.
