UNITE COE

On April 17, 2026, at the UNITe building, the opening ceremony and the first part of the annual Open Day event at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University took place. The initiative is part of the National Program “Education with Science”.

Following a brief introduction by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Bumova of FMI, prospective students listened with interest to an inspiring presentation by the dean of FMI, Prof. Dr. Maya Stoyanova, who explained the application process, the advantages of studying at the faculty, and the career opportunities that FMI offers. The future students reviewed detailed information about the majors and career opportunities after graduation and actively asked questions, to which they received clear, specific, and helpful answers.

They then engaged in an open discussion with representatives of the Faculty Student Council at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics — Raya Nineva, Simona Davarska, Dimitar Dobrev, and Nia Rasheva — asking questions and discussing important topics, related to academics and student life. This dialogue fostered a sense of transparency, support, and confidence, which helped prospective students make a more informed choice. In addition, examples were presented of the successful careers of faculty graduates in Bulgaria and abroad.

Being part of FMI means not only studying at an educational institution, but also gaining access to a wide range of opportunities for professional growth and success in the global technology sector. This is a dynamic and supportive community where friendships, ideas, and future career paths are forged.
