On May 9, citizens of the European Union celebrated Europe Day with a variety of events dedicated to European unity and solidarity. Representatives of the EURAXESS Bulgaria team also took part in the festive program held at the European village, located in the park area around the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
The event was organized by the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria and brought together institutions and organizations, including the European Parliament in Bulgaria, the European Investment Bank, and representatives of European information networks.
During the event, representatives from EURAXESS Bulgaria presented their work and highlighted their strong collaboration with the Center of Excellence UNITe. Advertising materials from UNITe were also distributed, and participants shared their positive impressions of the working environment at the Center’s building and the support they received for their participation in the event.
The festive program began with a performance of the European anthem, “Ode to Joy”, from Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, presented by the Sofia Wind Orchestra on the open-air stage in front of the National Palace of Culture. Students from schools in Sofia also took part in the program, performing dances set to music from various EU member states.
The evening part of the celebration continued with concerts by the popular young artists Veniamin, Dara Ekimova, and Elizabeth.
